چکیده
This study aimed to assess the morphometry of enterocytes as well goblet cell-to-enterocyte ratio in different intestinal segments dogs with chronic enteropathies (CE). Histopathological samples from 97 were included (19 healthy juveniles, 21 adults, 24 protein-losing enteropathy (PLE), and 33 CE without PLE). Healthy adult small showed progressively reduced epithelial cell height aboral direction, while juvenile increased direction. had duodenum, PLE decreased heights compared dogs. Both enterocyte width duodenal segment, ileal colonic narrower than those a lower colon segment provides valuable morphometric information on during canine enteropathies, highlighting significant morphological alterations, particularly intestine, cases

Canine Protein Losing Enteropathies
ABST RACT Protein-losing enteropathies are traditionally thought of as being diseases with a very poor prognosis. While this is often true, there are subsets of these patients which, if diagnosed in a timely fashion, may often have a relatively good prognosis. Lymphangiectasia in particular is a disease that is often misdiagnosed or diagnosed so late that it is no longer treatable. Clinicians s...

Chronic lymphocytic gastritis (CLG) is a recently described histopathological entity characterised by the presence of lymphocytes in the surface and foveolar epithelium of the gastric mucosa. Previous accounts'have paid attention to both the endoscopic and histological features of the condition but the presenting features and clinical correlates of the pathology have not been clearly characteri...

Protein-losing enteropathy (PLE) is a rare complication of intestinal diseases. Its main manifestation is hypoproteinemic edema. The diagnosis of PLE is based on the verification of protein loss into the intestinal lumen, by determining fecal α1-antitrypsin concentration and clearance. The localization of the affected colonic segment is clarified using radiologic and endoscopic techniques. The ...

Protein-losing enteropathy (PLE) is a rare complication of a variety of intestinal disorders characterized by an excessive loss of proteins into the gastrointestinal tract due to impaired integrity of the mucosa. The clinical presentation of patients with PLE is highly variable, depending upon the underlying cause, but mainly consists of edema due to hypoproteinemia. While considering PLE, othe...
